Our Journey
Darren Slyns is the driving force behind Regional Safety Services and brings a wealth of experience and a passion for making a positive impact. In Darren's 28-year career in the Western Australia Police Force, including a decade as a detective, he investigated many workplace tragedies, witnessing the devastating impact of inadequate safety measures, often with business owners not understanding their safety obligations.
Darren’s career continues a legacy of safety and community service. Beyond his policing career, Darren owned a cheese manufacturing business in the south west of Western Australia for 19 years, and developed comprehensive Food Safety Plans for the business in line with legislative changes implemented by Department of Health WA in 2010. His combined experiences have equipped him with diverse perspectives, allowing Regional Safety Services to offer practical, affordable safety solutions.

25 years experience in workplace inspections as state government OSH representative
Qualified Auditor
Qualified Senior Investigator including experience in Coronial investigations
Advanced Diploma in Public Safety (Investigations)
Currently studying Master of Business Administration (specialising in OSH)
